Doyen re-elected as town chairman

Phelps incumbent town Chairman Steve Doyen retained his position in last Tuesday’s election, defeating registered write-in Dorothy Kimmerling 320-193.

Doyen has served on the town board for 16 years and as town chairman for eight years. He has lived in Phelps for 27 years.

During his next term, Doyen said he plans to continue his work on the Phelps master plan to maintain roads, workforce, emergency and fire departments, equipments and buildings.

Supervisors Eugene McCaslin and Steve Waier were re-elected, with Waier is also retaking the position as sanitary district treasurer. Rick Brown was re-elected as town constable.

Phelps School Board President Colleen Pietenpol and Clerk Kim Johnson were re-elected to the board.

In Land O’ Lakes, Chairman Daniel G. Balog, Kevin Konnow and Samuel Otterpohl were elected, all running unopposed. Lynn Jolin also was re-elected as the town’s clerk/treasurer.

In Conover, Chairman Dale Mayo and supervisors Joseph Muehlbach and Karl Jennrich also retained their seats unopposed.

The Conover ballot also had a Room Tax referendum question on it which passed 308-214.
