The Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts (HCPA) will present The Everly Set, an Everly Brothers tribute show featuring Sean Altman and Jack Skuller, this Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the Northland Pines High School Auditorium in Eagle River.
In 1957, teens Phil and Don Everly influenced the vocal sounds of rock ’n’ roll with harmonies that would impact The Beatles, Beach Boys, Eagles, and others.
Now, decades later, acclaimed musicians Altman and Skuller, who previously performed in a Simon and Garfunkel tribute during HCPA’s 2022-2023 season, return to celebrate the Everly Brothers with performances of songs “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Cathy’s Clown,” “When Will I Be Loved,” “Love Hurts,” Bird Dog,” “Walk Right Back,” and many more hits and rarities.
“The Everly Set’s vocals and keen wit will have you singing, laughing, and dancing in the aisles!” said the HCPA.
The evening starts at 6:15 p.m. with a performance by local musicians Gerry and Laura Plank in the auditorium lobby. They will showcase classics from the 60s and 70s and selections from their Tall Pines Jazz repertoire.
HCPA will also continue its popular raffle basket drawing, featuring gifts donated by local businesses. Tickets for the raffle will be available at the event, priced at $5 each or five for $20, with winners announced at the end of intermission.
Tickets for The Everly Set cost $35 and can be purchased in advance at Eagle River Roasters until April 4, online at hcpapresents.com, or the door starting at 6 p.m. on the night of the performance.
