Residents and visitors will have an opportunity for family-friendly fun with Fourth of July events set for the Eagle River area.
The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center has announced several events for the Fourth of July holiday, which will include a parade and a party downtown.
The Parade Marshal for 2024 will be Karen Kubacki Boxrucker.
“She stays busy sharing her love of our community with our community,” said the chamber. “We are all very grateful for what she does to help create a community where we all want to be.”
Boxrucker has played a role in many local events, including 25 years managing the bakery at Cranberry Fest and working with Artarama. She has also hosted international hockey players, assisted with the art show at the library, and delivered meals to seniors.
Wet ZoneThis year’s “Wet Zone” remains the same as in 2024, starting on Wall Street from Silver Lake Road (at Peanuts Ice Cream) to Second Street (US Post Office).
Those who don’t mind getting sprayed with water should sit to view the parade from this area.
Within this area floats in the parade or spectators on the street could use squirt guns/water shooting devices that could spray the crowd.
Parade floats
The chamber invites individuals, businesses and organizations to join in the Eagle River Fourth of July parade by putting together a Fourth of July-themed display for the event.
There is no cost to be in the parade and all entrants must have red, white and blue in their parade units.
For more information and to register for the parade, contact the Eagle River Area Chamber and Visitors Center at 715-479-6400.
It is preferred that all parade units pre-register by Friday, June 27, so that line-up numbers and locations can be assigned the day before the parade. There will be slots available at the check-in on the day of the parade, however, early registration is preferred.
Party in the Street
The Party in the Street event will take place in downtown Eagle River on Wall Street from First Street to Railroad Street.
This event will begin at 10 a.m. with music from DJ Chris and Tiffany being played at the corner of Wall and Main Street.
There will also be food and a beer garden available in the same area.
Then at 11 a.m., the Eagle River Fourth of July Parade will progress down Wall Street.
Right after the parade, Wall Street will continue to be closed from First to Railroad Street from noon – 3 p.m. DJ Chris and Tiffany will again play a wide variety of music and the mentioned two blocks on Wall Street in downtown Eagle River will be open to roaming the street while enjoying food, drink, music and other family activities.
Party in the Street is a community effort supported by the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce Downtown Committee, Eagle River Revitalization Program and the Eagle River Veterans Resource Center.
