LAND O’ LAKES — Frontier Builders, Inc. Log Crafters is celebrating a remarkable milestone in 2026, marking 40 years in business and three generations of family leadership with a special appreciation gathering Friday, July 3.

Owner Dan Wait said that hosting this event is a way to commemorate four decades of building quality log homes as well as lasting relationships. To do so he is inviting clients — past, present and future — along with friends, neighbors and community members to celebrate the accomplishment.

“This anniversary is about more than celebrating 40 years in business,” Wait said. “It’s about celebrating the people who made those 40 years possible — our clients, our employees, our suppliers, our community, and our family.”

The celebration will feature a large tent, live entertainment, food and refreshments, along with an opportunity to tour the Frontier Builders Log Yard. People of all ages are invited to attend this family-friendly gathering.

This year’s event carries special significance following the recent fire at the Frontier Builders shop. Wait and the Frontier Builders team are taking this opportunity to extend an invitation and their appreciation to the firefighters, emergency personnel, and first responders who answered the call and worked to protect lives and property.

Responding to the scene were firefighters from Land O’ Lakes, Phelps, Conover, Eagle River and Watersmeet, as well as the Wisconsin DNR, Land O’ Lakes EMS, WE Energies, and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office.

“We especially want to thank the firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, utility crews, and emergency responders who came to our aid,” Wait said. “Their professionalism, dedication, teamwork, and courage helped us through a difficult situation, and we are deeply grateful for everything they do to protect our communities.”

40 years in the making

Founded in 1986 by Jerry Wait, Frontier Builders, Inc. Log Crafters began with a vision of combining quality craftsmanship, hard work, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Through dedication to those values, the company earned a reputation as one of the Midwest’s premier log home builders.

In 1999, Dan Wait purchased the company, carrying forward the family tradition while expanding Frontier’s capabilities and reputation throughout the region.

Today, the company proudly represents three generations of family leadership. Since 2022, Cameron Wait has overseen Frontier’s robotics and CNC manufacturing operations, helping the company continue to blend modern technology with the craftsmanship and values that have defined Frontier Builders for four decades.
