Grape-stomping event to benefit historical society this Sunday at Cin-Cin

Posted

The Eagle River Historical Society (ERHS) invites the public to take part in its second annual Grape Stomp Fest that benefits the society’s efforts of preserving local history.

Slated for this Sunday, July 19, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Bortolotti’s Cin-Cin restaurant, guests can spend the whole afternoon enjoying samples, activities and vying to win raffles and auction items. There will be a cash bar available throughout the afternoon as well.

From 2 to 5 p.m., attendees can try their hand (or foot!) at a traditional grape stomp while also vying for some great prizes. There also will be six wines to taste along with a custom glass available for the first 75 people who sign up.

Guests receive one free raffle ticket at the door for the chance to win a variety of unique experiences and goodies. Admission also includes a $10 credit toward Jessica’s Cucina food truck and live music from the 1950s-80s by Top Hat.

Then from 5 to 6:30 p.m. will be the third annual Garden Art Auction where bidders will have a chance to win uniquely painted garden art, including chairs, unique tools and other special garden scape pieces. Some of the items in the auction include Manitowish Waters boat tours, ERHS’ “Bars and Brothels” pub crawls, ATV and snowmobile rentals and more.
Proceeds raised help pay for ERHS’ conservation projects of local history, new exhibits, school tours for fourth-graders, operational and staffing costs for the museums and other necessities.

Tickets for the event cost $70 and are available online at eagleriverhistory.org under the “Events” tab. Bortolotti’s Cin-Cin is located on Bluebird Lane, just north of downtown Eagle River.
