Hoeft tabbed MVP of Dairyland League large division

Posted

The Minocqua Wood Ducks recently wrapped up the 2026 summer campaign, and one of their players was awarded the Most Valuable Player title in the Dairyland League large division after his on-field accomplishments. Landyn Hoeft was named MVP of the large division after a monster season, including a productive year in the batter’s box and on the mound. This award, among others, was voted on by league managers.

Hoeft led the team in most major statistical categories on offense for the Wood Ducks and contributed runs in most games this season. The Wood Ducks finished 5-10 in league play.
Based on available stats on GameChanger, Hoeft had an efficient year at the plate with a .484 batting average. That was first on the team with hitters who had 30 or more at-bats for Minocqua. He finished with 15 hits on the year, which included seven home runs. Hoeft was the Ducks’ big power hitter and the only player with more than one home run. He also finished with 20 RBI, which was also the top on the roster. He also had five multi-hit games for the Wood Ducks.

His lefty arm was also beneficial on the mound for Minocqua. He pitched in six games this year and possessed a 1.00 ERA, with 28 innings thrown (tied for most on the team), 120 batters faced and 26 hits allowed. He also had just four earned runs out of 11 he gave up. Hoeft finished with 30 strikeouts to just five walks and left 25 opposing runners stranded. Opposing hitters also had a hard time figuring Hoeft out, as the batting average against him was .226.
