James "Jim" Chesemore

James Chesemore, 78, of Brooklyn Park, MN passed away March 30, 2025, at home.
 
His parents owned Evergreen Resort on Muskellunge Lake where Jim developed a love of the Northwoods. A three-sport athlete, he graduated from Eagle River High School In 1964, was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam. After graduating from college, he worked in production management. 
 
Married for 55 years to his high school sweetheart, Mary Martin, they shared a love of traveling throughout the United States and internationally. A founding member of Maplebrook Soccer Club, he coached and refereed on many levels. He was on the Board of Directors of Treehouse Village in Eagle River. An avid musky fisherman, he enjoyed boating, golf, cards, reading, wintering in Arizona and the Green Bay Packers. Spending time with his children and grandchildren his first priority.
 
His legacy of quiet strength, willingness to help others, positive outlook, humor and appreciation for life are a gift to all who knew him. A life well lived.
 
He is survived by wife, Mary; two children, Ryan and Amy; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
 
A celebration of life will be held at Kozlak Radulovich Funeral Chapel- Maple Grove, MN on Saturday, April 12. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia Society or Wounded Warriors would be appreciated.
