John Jahnz

John A. Jahnz, 77, of Eagle River, WI, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026.

John was born on March 18, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and made Eagle River his home for the past 34 years. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served his country with honor and carried that pride throughout his life.

John had a lifelong passion for trucking. He owned and operated Holly Trucking for 25 years and was happiest behind the wheel or talking shop with friends. He also looked forward to spending the winter months in Arizona with his beloved wife, Holly.
John's greatest joy was his family. He and Holly shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, hard work, and lasting memories. To his six grandchildren, his beloved "little guys," Makena, Jolene, Breann, Braden, Mallory, and Michael, he was known as "Big Guy," a nickname that reflected the special bond they shared and one they will cherish forever.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Holly; his daughters, Julie (Pat) Brumm, Erin (Jason) Molle, and Sherry (Patrick) Schmidt; his six grandchildren; his brother, Tom (Margaret) Jahnz; his sisters, Sue (Harry) Manzke, Nancy (Fred) Pergande, Patty (Ed) Zganjar, and Jody (Mike) Moore; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Harriet Jahnz.

John will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet kindness, unwavering love for his family, and the friendships he cherished. His conversations, sense of humor, and passion for trucking left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Friday, August 14, at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
