Joyce Eloise Larson Blaser, known as "Stubby" as a child, passed away on Dec. 23, 2025, at Caretta Senior Living in Eau Claire, Wis.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1925, in Union Grove, Wis., to Lawrence and Irene (Matheson) Larson. This past September she celebrated her 100th Birthday, a milestone that she was excited to reach.
She lived most of her life in Racine County, Wis. On July 12, 1946, she married Kenneth Blaser and together they raised three children. In 1988, she and Kenneth moved to Eagle River, Wis., where he preceded her in death in 1993. Joyce was also preceded in death by her sister Ruth Tucker in 2022.
Joyce remained active during her years in Eagle River. She was a member of both the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Her love of dancing led her to teach line dancing as well as attend numerous ballroom dances where she and her dance partner Jerry were known for their smooth dancing. She also had many fun times with friends in the local Red Hat Society. Joyce was a dedicated member of Pioneer Lake Lutheran Church in Conover, Wis., where she shared her skills in quilt making and counting offering money every Sunday.
Joyce was quick to tell others how blessed she was to have 28 descendants, of whom she was very proud. She is survived by three children, Irene (Guadalupe) Villarreal, Terry Blaser, and Kim (James) Gross; seven grandchildren, Sara (Brad) Bishop, Melissa Villarreal, James (Katie) Blaser, William (Carrie) Blaser, Katherine (Greg) Halbert, Jennifer (Dana) Roach, and Leah (Dan) Greuel. She is further survived by 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine, Wis., at a later date.
