Judith Marie Hintzman of Anvil Lake passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2026, at the age of 85.
Judi grew up in Milwaukee and attended Messmer High School. She married her husband Ronald in 1966, and together they raised three children. After retiring in 2001, they moved to their beloved log home in northern Wisconsin. She had a 20-year career as office manager at Steinhafel’s Furniture and, after moving to Eagle River, worked at the Chanticleer Inn for 12 years.
A committed member of her community, she served as the first female usher at St. Matthias in Milwaukee, was a Den Mother and Girl Scout leader, and dedicated 25 years to her role as Treasurer of the Anvil Lake Association. Judi had a special affection for dogs and had a houseful for many years.
She will be remembered for her steadfast dedication to her family, her love of flowers, gardening, and cooking, and her beloved pets. Her strong presence will be deeply missed by the entire Hintzman family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald; her children, Susanne Hintzman and her partner Mark Meyrose, Sandra Hintzman, Jonathan Hintzman and his wife Lori; her sister, Catherine DiStefano and her husband Ted; nine nieces and nephews; her kind and generous Anvil Lake community; and her beloved family pets, George, Ernie, Elmer, and Piggy.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Hardy and his wife Char; and by her family pets, Bozo, Buster, Butcher, Button, Nugget, Casey, Freedom, Bogart, Barney, Kohler, Wilbur, Moose, Reese, Benji, and Wesley.
