A 31-year-old Lac du Flambeau woman was found not guilty at a jury trial on one felony count of substantial battery-intend bodily harm last week in Vilas County court.
Skylar La Barge, in custody from Vilas County Jail, had a jury trial where multiple witnesses took the stand to testify. La Barge did not testify during the trial and the jurors found her not guilty on the sole count.
Shawnee Chapman, 31, of Lac du Flambeau, had her narcotic drugs felony charge dismissed during a final pretrial after the state motioned to dismiss the case. Chapman was not in court for the hearing.
Jonah La Barge, 29, of Lac du Flambeau, had his preliminary hearing for two felony charges and one misdemeanor. Officer Ashlee Allen from the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department was sworn in and identified La Barge during the hearing. La Barge also pleaded not guilty at an arraignment hearing.
The bond was continued and a judicial pretrial was set for Dec. 27 at 10:30 a.m.
Jesse Armstrong, 26, of Lac du Flambeau, had a jury trial set at a judicial pretrial to start April 28, 2025, on one felony count of first-degree reckless homicide/delivery of drugs A final pretrial was also set for March 18, 2025.
Brooke Bennett, 32, of Eagle River, has an upcoming preliminary hearing for two cases involving multiple felony drug charges. A bond modification motion was also denied during the adjourned initial appearance hearing. The $10,000 cash bond with conditions was continued. The preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 2, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
