Northwoods service departments will again take part in the National Night Out celebration this Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Eagle River City Hall.
This family-friendly annual event gives people of all ages the chance to learn more about how agencies help the public while also allowing staff to interact with the residents and visitors they serve. There also will be plenty of kid-friendly activities and swag items, along with lessons on how power works at the PowerTown exhibit but on by Eagle River Light and Water, forestry and emergency preparedness, and other displays from local organizations.
A big draw of the event is the chance to interact directly with equipment and staff provided on site by the city’s fire, police, light and water, and street departments.
Aspirus MedEvac will have a helicopter available, barring any medical emergency use required. County staff from Emergency Management and Public Health, U.S. Forest Service, and other representatives will also be in attendance.
City hall is located at 525 E. Maple St. in Eagle River.
