Lois Healy
Lois Irene (Johnson) Healy, age 84, of Eagle River, WI, passed away August 7, 2025, at her home on lovely Scattering Rice Lake.
Lois was born in Phelps, Wisconsin on May 26, 1941, to Einar and Agnes Johnson. She attended elementary school in a one room schoolhouse in Conover followed by high school in Eagle River. She met her husband, Dan, while in high school. Lois and Dan were "high school sweethearts", married, and went on to have four children.
During her working years, Lois worked at gift shops (The Wood Shed), a sporting goods store (Spiess’s), drove a small bus with her routes covering Land O’ Lakes and Conover, and had a small child care business in her home. She very much enjoyed taking care of children with much love, attention, and important life teachings.
In her older years, Lois volunteered for "Meals on Wheels” as well as taking elderly folks to their doctor’s appointments.
Community-wise, Dan and Lois belonged to the Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club. As a matter of fact, Dan was one of the founding members. They enjoyed snowmobiling with friends and family.
Lois and Dan found much pleasure in camping as well. They would take their grandchildren many places but loved going up to the Porcupine Mountains and Lake Superior.
Over the years Lois treasured all the special moments with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to watch them go sledding in the winter months and swimming in the lake during the summer. Sometimes she would hop "onboard'" a pontoon boat and go sightseeing through our wooded chain of lakes. Always enjoying her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; parents, Einar and Agnes.
She is survived by her four children, Dawn (Frank) Raymond, Diane (Jay Hakenson) Brooker, John (Terri) Healy and Mike Healy. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Tyler (Samantha) Healy, Derek (Taylor) Healy, Paige (Charlie) Adams, Brad (Danyel) Brooker, Kevin Brooker, Brigette (Clay) Durocher and Eston (Mackenzie) Healy; fifteen great-grandchildren, Carter Decker, Layla Healy, Ryker Healy, Jax Healy, Owen Healy, Quinn Healy, Oliver Healy, Lennex Brooker, Larkin Brooker, Oden Brooker, Ayla Brooker, Amelia Brooker, Axel Brooker, Austyn Healy and Rhett Healy; brother, Harold (Judy) Johnson; sister-in-law, Karen Maxson; brother-in-law, Wesley Lacrosse.
It goes without saying, Lois was an extremely loving, caring and giving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her "love" will be missed by many, however we find comfort in knowing that she is now in the hands of the Lord and reunited with Dan.
A memorial service will be at 11am on Friday August 15, 2025, at the Pioneer Lake Lutheran Church in Conover, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
