A weekend full of fun softball action ended Sunday night at Wavering Park in Phelps, where the team from Lucky’s Pub and Grill won the 47th running of the Phelps Recreation Association softball tournament.
This year, 10 different teams took part in the festivities and fought for a chance at a championship. Brew’s Pub came into this year’s tournament as the defending champs, but was knocked out of contention. Lucky’s ended up with the $1,200 cash prize and will have the bullseye on their back heading into the 2027 tournament.
Sobek’s Resort has a good history in this tournament, along with the team of Rummy’s Busch Boys, who took second and third place, respectively, this year. Sobek’s won this event two years ago and took third place last year. The Busch Boys took second last year and followed that up with a bronze medal finish this summer.
No official fundraising numbers were announced, but money raised at the tournament goes towards the Phelps youth.
