Martin Dellies

Martin Lester Dellies passed away on July 15, 2026, at his home.

Martin was born in Marquette, Michigan, on December 10, 1947. He was the cherished son of Lester and Palma (Peretto) of Watersmeet, Michigan.

Martin graduated from Watersmeet High School in 1966. He was employed by Watersmeet Township working primarily at the township refuse transfer station.

Martin was a quiet and serious person, but any mention of Green Bay Packers football initiated his true personality. He was a number one fan and could relate concerning each player, present and past. Salary caps, budgets, a player's value, trades and keepers were solid conversation with him. He subscribed to three different newspapers to keep up with the various sports teams as well.

Martin kept a Packers flag in his front yard and adorned his yard fence with large Packers banners. He was thrilled to attend many Packers games, thanks to Frank Kuchevar bringing him there, and never missed the opportunity to shop at the Packer's stadium gift shop. His enthusiasm and dedication to the team gave us all "a lighter step in our walk".

Deep appreciation is extended for the many kindnesses shown to him in his work and retirement by by the community.

Survivors to Martin include a cousin, Frank (Kathleen) Kuchevar; and the extended Kuchevar family.

Burial will be in the Watersmeet Township cemetery.
