Youngsters explore paleontology at children’s museum dino dig

Posted

Children and families explored the world of paleontology held at the Northwoods Children’s Museum’s Dino Dig Adventure on Sunday, Jan. 26.
The Dino Dig Adventure began with dinosaur activities and an erupting volcano in the Discovery Toy Store. This was followed by an educational lesson in “paleontology school,” a trip to the lab to exam-ine fossils, and a stop at the oasis to have a snack before the trip to the desert dig site. Finally, the adventure concluded with a dig site explora-tion to uncover fossils and bones. Families par-ticipated in a fun craft after the dig. Each child took home a dino dig bag, a hat and a snack.
“This event would not have been pos-sible without the help of volunteers from Nicolet National Bank, Ripco Credit Union and Incredible Bank,” said Executive Director Danielle Larsen. “A big ‘thank you’  to the staff, volunteers and attendees who all helped support the Power of Play!”
