Quilters donate to Camp American Legion

Veterans’ camp to celebrate 100th year

Posted

Eagle River’s Cranberry Country Quilters recently completed nine bed-size quilts during their monthly Care and Share charity sew-in, held at the Kalmar Community Center.

These patriotic quilts will be donated to Camp American Legion for its 100-year celebration, taking place on Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m., at 8529 Highway D in Lake Tomahawk.

The camp had reached out to area quilters with the hope of covering its 55 beds in red, white, and blue to honor the milestone. The Cranberry Country Quilters answered the call with four twin-size and five queen-size quilts.

In addition to Camp American Legion, the group donates quilts to other local organizations, including Compassus Hospice, Lily’s House, Fredrick Place, Aspirus Birthing Center, and county sheriff’s departments.
