Ronald “Ron” Nedset found peace on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 82.
Ron was the beloved husband of Gertrude for 50 years and a devoted father to Ronnie Nedset (Stacy Schlidt), Lori Nedset-Crawley (Tim Crawley), Kristin Nedset, and Lisa Nedset. Proud Grandpa of Caden & Noah Crawley, Crosby, Gabriella, and Tyler. Dear brother of Diane (Pat) Farley. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Vera Elsa Nedset.
He adored his children and grandchildren and brought humor and warmth everywhere he went.
Ron loved to put in a day of hard work. Whether it was tinkering in the garage or working on the deep tunnel project in Milwaukee, he loved to stay busy. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 60 years. He operated a wide variety of heavy machinery and worked for multiple companies from 1965-2001.
He spent many happy days at the family cabin in Three Lakes, Wisconsin — a place built with his own hands alongside family and his friends. He loved being captain of the boat and seeing how fast he could drive before being told to slow down.
Ron was quick-witted, caring and always ready to give a helping hand. He loved telling a good story and sharing laughs over a cold Miller Lite (“none of that fancy beer”). He had a way of making everyone feel welcome.
Some of Ron’s hobbies included watching the Milwaukee Brewers, NASCAR, and Wheel of Fortune. The contestant introductions were his favorite part of Wheel of Fortune. He loved hearing the stories shared on the show. This carried over to his day-to-day life. He was genuinely interested to know a person’s background and to continually catch up with life updates.
Ron was always up for a game of cribbage and spending time with the people he loved most. He often told cribbage opponents “it’ll be alright” if he was winning. No doubt, he is again saying to everyone “it’ll be alright.”
Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, August 9, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 15250 W. National Avenue, New Berlin. A post celebration of life location will be shared the day of the event. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ron’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
