Three Lakes district ‘exceeds expectations’ on state report card

Posted

The Three Lakes School District has again received an “exceeds expectations” rating on the state report cards recently released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

The district’s scores are as follows: Three Lakes School District, 75.4, Exceeds Expectations; Three Lakes Elementary, 77.1, Exceeds Expectations; Sugar Camp Elementary, 83.9, Exceeds Expectations; Three Lakes Junior High, 72.6, Exceeds Expectations; and Three Lakes High School, 68.2, Meets Expectations.

This past summer, DPI met with a team of educators to revise the scoring and achievement levels used on the report cards. Because of this change, the overall accountability scores for 2024-25 cannot be directly compared to prior years, though the underlying data remains the same.

According to the DPI, the 2024-2025 report cards establish a new baseline for measuring school and district performance.

The state report cards use legislatively mandated calculations, and include data across four priority areas: achievement, growth, target group outcomes and on-track to graduate.

“The achievement reflected in the 2024-2025 Wisconsin DPI School Report Card is a snapshot of the four categories legislatively required for reporting to the public,” said Three Lakes District Administrator Teri Maney. “While the district continues to do very well, it is important to note that this is not a complete representation of the TLSD educational program. The district continues our commitment to providing the best possible education for our students, and that takes purposeful instructional planning.”

Maney noted that the district continues to work through its long-range plan while focusing on specific annual goals. The district’s annual goals for 2025-26 can be found on the district’s website at threelakessd.k12.wi.us. The state-released report cards can be found on the DPI website and on the district website.
