It was a packed house at the Three Lakes pickleball courts at Don Burnside Park this past weekend with the 12th annual Three Lakes pickleball tournament. Organizers crowned first-place teams in the men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles divisions, with five, four, and seven teams, respectively, as champions.

Official tournament numbers included 40 men’s teams, 22 women’s teams and 51 mixed teams. There were 178 players throughout the two days of tournament play. The oldest participant was 89 and the youngest was 12.

Below are the results of the top three finishers in all divisions.

Men’s Division

Group A: First, Kevin Lewis and Tim Lewis; second, Andrew Cimbalnik and Zach Cropsey; third, Chad Mertes and Anton Thurmond.

Group B: First, John Seis and Duane Haakenson; second, Mitch Langseth and Tim Gathman; third, Rusty Hayes and Ben Harendza.

Group C: First, Gary Carlton and Eric Naumann; second, John Michl and Joseph Poenitsch; third, Gregg Born and Gregg Born.

Group D: First, Chris Bares and Tom Babcock; second, Charlie Munkwitz and James Lopina; third, Nick Fowkes and Evan Naumann.

Group E: First, Tom McElmeel and Eric Edwards; second, David Fisher and Ismail Sahin; third, George Kas and Frank Weglarz.

Women’s Division

Group A: First, Shannon Zaremba and Jen Buehler; second, Angel Kubly and Jeanne Hellman; third, Lori Grinde and Lisa Knoll.

Group B: First, Karen Keyzers and Tara Prophet; second, Allison Soderberg and Juile Babcock; third, Jodi Zalewski and Juile Seis.

Group C: First, Cheryl Fry and Pamela Warren; second, Sally Druckrey and Kathy Janssen; third, Jane Brown and Molly Weberpal.

Group D: First, Patti Blewett and Angela Davis; second, Barb Mastalish and Karen Stigen; third, Gloria Kas and Linda Springer.

Mixed doubles
