The second annual Concert of Prayer for the Three Lakes School District will be held Monday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. at Union Congregational Church in Three Lakes.
“We are fortunate to have a wonderful school district with an exceptional administrator, principals, teachers, support staff, and students. It is our desire to honor these individuals and to pray blessings over them,” said Valeri Snedden, one of the organizers.
Categories prayed over will include the schools within the district — Sugar Camp Elementary, Three Lakes Elementary, and Three Lakes Jr./Sr. High School; the administrator and principals; teachers and support staff; students and their parents; and the school board.
Participants from area churches will lead the congregation in written prayers.
An open invitation is being extended to all who serve, or who are served by, those in the field of education within the Three Lakes school district. “We hope to have representatives of each category present,” said Snedden.
The public is encouraged to attend and support these individuals with their prayers.
Concerts of Prayer is a movement that originated in Scotland in 1744. Its name was coined by Jonathan Edwards, one of America’s preeminent Christian philosophers, whose preaching helped spark the First Great Awakening.
Union Congregational Church is located 6993 Forest St. in Three Lakes.
