Conover man sentenced for felony theft charge

Derek Trzcinski, 43, of Conover, was found guilty of one felony count of contractor theft, ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 last week in Vilas County Circuit Court. 

Branch 1 Circuit Court Judge Martha Milanowski stayed the sentence and placed him on probation for three years. 

Conditions include paying the full restitution of $28,752.14, and all applicable surcharges and court costs. That will be paid at $750 per month minimum. Trzcinski also has to maintain full-time employment and do 20 hours of community service.  

 

Lance Wayman, 49, of Minocqua, appeared for an adjourned initial appearance on one felony count of possession with intent of fentanyl and one felony count of possession with intent of methamphetamine and amphetamine. 

Wayman got a court-appointed attorney and a bond modification was denied by Judge Milanowski. A $2,500 cash bond with conditions was continued and another adjourned initial appearance was scheduled for Oct. 14, at 9 a.m.

 

Jennifer Primich, 49, of Phelps, appeared for her final pretrial on one felony charge of a hit and run causing great bodily harm. The court, prosecutors, and defense went through jury instructions during the hearing. The jury trial for the case is set for Oct. 29-30, starting at 8:30 a.m.

 

James Lincoln, 35, of Minocqua, had a plea/sentencing hearing scheduled for one felony count of a fourth offense OWI. The hearing is scheduled for Oct. 3, at 1:30 p.m.   

 

Walter Linklater, 47, of Lac du Flambeau, waived his preliminary hearing on one felony charge of methamphetamine possession. The case was bound over for arraignment and not guilty pleas were entered by the court.

A judicial pretrial was set for Dec. 10, at 9:30 a.m. 

 

Randy Burgess, 44, of Lac du Flambeau, had a jury trial scheduled for a case involving one felony count of methamphetamine and possession with intent of heroin. Prosecuting attorney Dennis Brown requested a jury trial be set, which was set for March 11, 2025. A final pretrial was scheduled for Feb. 4, at 9:30 a.m.
