Flambeau man convicted of burglary, bail jumping
A Lac du Flambeau man was convicted last week of one felony charge of burglary to a building or dwelling and one felony bail-jumping charge in Vilas County Circuit Court. Charles Wolfe was sentenced to two years of confinement and four years of extended supervision, with 72 days of presentence credit for the felony burglary charge. Judge Martha Milanowski handed down a concurrent sentence for the bail-jumping charge, with one less year of extended supervision for Wolfe to complete that sentence.
Danita Brisk, 63, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a plea/sentencing hearing on one felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and one charge of bail jumping. Brisk pleaded guilty to both counts and was ordered to serve two years of probation with conditions. Judge Martha Milanowski stayed a 12-month sentence in Vilas Jail, and there were two days of presentence credit in the case of revocation. Another felony possession of methamphetamine charge was dismissed, but read into the record for sentencing. The offenses occurred on May 19, 2025.
Jameson Thoms-Bent, 24, of Lac du Flambeau, failed to appear at a hearing last week on one felony charge of possession of narcotics. Judge Martha Milanowski will not allow any voluntary appearances, and a plea/sentencing hearing was scheduled for the case on July 29 at 1:30 p.m.
Wilhelm Lemmons, 39, of Eagle River, appeared in custody for a court trial last week on one felony charge of first-degree reckless injury. Prosecutors started the hearing with opening statements and later offered multiple exhibits, which the court received. Multiple other witnesses testified during the trial hearing. It was stated at another hearing last week that Lemmons will not testify at this time. An oral hearing was scheduled for July 20 at 3 p.m.
Walter Linklater, 48, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared from Dodge Correctional Facility for a plea/sentencing hearing on one felony charge of taking and driving a vehicle without consent. Linklater pleaded guilty to the charge, and Judge Martha Milanowski ordered Linklater to 90 days in jail, with 15 days of credit. The sentence will run concurrently with what he is currently serving.
