Lac du Flambeau man found not guilty in homicide case

Matthew Allen, Jr., 21, of Lac du Flambeau was found not guilty of first-degree homicide and use of a dangerous weapon at a jury trial this past Friday, Nov. 8.  The trial ran from Nov. 4 through Nov. 8. Allen was initially charged after an alleged stabbing in August 2023. 

 

Shawntae Beson, 29, of Lac du Flambeau appeared in court for a judicial pretrial for a charge of possession of methamphetamine.  

The defense is awaiting another discovery and requested another pretrial conference, which was scheduled for Jan. 14, 2025, at 11:45 a.m.

 

Gerald Lakota of Freeport, Ill. will be returning to court for a final pretrial hearing on two felony charges, one being OWI and the other being operating with prohibited alcohol concentration, on Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.
