Nicolet National Bank Senior Spotlight

Tessa Christophersen, Three Lakes-Phelps soccer

Posted

Tessa Christophersen is one of six senior members on the Three Lakes-Phelps girls’ soccer team this season. She also used to play volleyball and soccer, but later just wanted to focus on her studies and playing soccer. When Christophersen is not on the pitch, she is usually on the lake fishing or swimming during the summer. After high school, she plans on attending UW-La Crosse to study Pediatric Occupational Therapy. Here is more on the Three Lakes senior:

Do you have a nickname that your friends or family call you?
“My nickname is Tess. I don’t think there is a specific reason for it, but it is my favorite.”

Do you participate in any other sports besides soccer?

“I used to participate in volleyball and basketball. I do not anymore because I wanted to focus on school and soccer.”

Is there a personal goal you have on the field this year?
“My personal goal is to play to my best ability and put my all into every game. I have been injured every soccer season, including this one, so I try to do my best for my team. Being an injured athlete can get mentally tiring, so I offer support to my other teammates who are also injured to attempt to keep their spirits up. I also try to remember to have more fun. It is easy to forget that it is just a game, and sometimes stress can get in the way. I hope to make our soccer team a welcoming place for all of the girls where they all feel worthy of being there.”

What other hobbies do you have outside of sports?
“Outside of sports, I enjoy the outdoors and hanging out with my friends. My favorite outdoor activities include fishing and swimming in the summertime.”

Favorite vacation spot that you’ve been to?
“My favorite vacation spot is Ocean City, New Jersey. I have been going there for my entire life, so it is like a second home to me. The atmosphere is so welcoming, and the people I get to see are so special to me.”

Do you have a pregame ritual that helps you before your games?
“I don’t have a specific pregame ritual, but I always listen to music on the bus ride there.”

Do you have any plans for after high school? College? Do you want to play a sport in college?

“After high school, I plan on attending UW-La Crosse to study Pediatric Occupational Therapy. I do not plan on playing any sports in college, but might consider club soccer.”
