Phelps Daycare earns top rating from YoungStar

Phelps Daycare was recently awarded five out of five stars from YoungStar, Wisconsin’s child care quality rating and improvement system.

YoungStar provides parents and caregivers with tools and information to help them find quality child care that meets their needs. It also supports Wisconsin’s child care providers with resources, training, and technical assistance to help enhance the quality of care they offer.

“Our amazing staff has worked diligently to receive this rating,” said Sara Barnekow, director. “Jennifer Turner, Lori Merkel, Amber Hacker, and I all hold associate degrees in early childhood education. Our level of commitment, dedication, and willingness to improve is the reason we are where we are today.”

Barnekow added that because they’re located within and operated by the school district, they’re able to carry this success into each child’s broader learning experience.
