The Conover Chamber of Commerce will kick off its Fourth of July celebration with a parade on Friday, July 4, at 1 p.m.
Area organizations, businesses, and residents are invited to participate using the theme “Honoring Local Heroes” to decorate their entries.
The parade will begin at Town Road and Highway 45, proceed along Town Road to Highway K, and then head east on Highway K, ending at Conover Town Park, 4697 Park Circle.
Immediately following the parade, the Conover Lions Club will host a community picnic at the park from noon to 4 p.m. Families can enjoy live music by Common Ground, food, beverages, games, a bounce house, raffles, a dunk tank, and — returning again this year — a Cornhole Tournament with 100% payout.
Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase at designated locations throughout the park.
The day will end with a Chain Skimmers Water Ski Show at 7 p.m. on Lake Pleasant, 5280 Hwy 45.
Grand MarshalsHarold and Judy Johnson, owners of Harold Johnson Sand and Gravel, have been named the 2025 Grand Marshals of Conover’s Fourth of July Parade.
Harold, a Conover native, and Judy, originally from Phelps, have lived in Conover since marrying 66 years ago. Harold has operated the business while Judy managed the office and household, raising their five children: Dale (Conover), Joyce (Eagle River), Karen (Illinois), Kathy (Florida), and Carol (Conover). The Johnsons also have eight grandchildren and will soon welcome their seventh great-grandchild.
