The Conover Lions Club and Headwaters Chapter Muskie Inc. held their annual Take A Kid Fishing event on Sunday, June 22, at Conover Town Park. Open to children 12 and under, the event centered around catching “Marvin,” the grand prize fish named in memory of long-time supporter Marvin Peterson. Fishing poles were donated by Terry Uhlenbrauck in his honor. Several tagged fish also earned prizes for lucky participants. Support from local businesses and Headwaters Chapter Muskie Inc. helped make the event a success despite the summer heat.
